The ten Day Masters

Your Day Master is the heavenly stem of your day pillar — the single character a BaZi chart is read around. There are only ten, one for each stem, and each is described by a classical natural image: a tree, a lamp, a mountain, a blade, a river.

Start with the one that matches your chart, or read all ten to learn the vocabulary. For the sixty full day pillars — each stem paired with a branch — see the day pillar index.
