Like a thick city wall, solid and grounded, marking the boundary between inside and outside.

The Day Master is the heavenly stem of your day pillar and the centre of a BaZi chart: every other character is read as a relationship to it. Wu appears as a Day Master in 戊辰, 戊寅, 戊子, 戊戌, 戊申 and 戊午, one for each branch it can sit on.

Nature

Wu is earth at scale: the mountain, the embankment, the wall. It does not move quickly and does not need to. This Day Master is the one others build on, and it carries weight long before anyone asks whether it wanted to. Reliability is its native language.

Strengths

Stability, judgement, and the capacity to absorb pressure without visibly bending.

Where it strains

Containment that becomes isolation. Wu can carry too much quietly and call it strength.

Work and vocation

Management, infrastructure, law, property, construction, or finance — roles where durability beats speed.

Relationships

Dependable to a fault. Saying you are tired is also a form of intimacy; do not save it for the last resort.

The six Wu day pillars

A Day Master meets six different branches across the sixty-year cycle. Each pairing changes the tone of the stem, so read the one that matches your birth day.

Find your Day Master

You do not need to work it out by hand. Enter your birth date, time and place, and the calculator returns all four pillars along with your Day Master and five-element balance.
