Like an axe or hammer: hard and heavy, its purpose is to be forged into shape.
The Day Master is the heavenly stem of your day pillar and the centre of a BaZi chart: every other character is read as a relationship to it. Geng appears as a Day Master in 庚午, 庚辰, 庚寅, 庚子, 庚戌 and 庚申, one for each branch it can sit on.
Nature
Geng is raw metal before refinement — the axe, the hammer, the iron bar. It is built for decisions and dislikes ambiguity more than it dislikes conflict. People with this Day Master say what they mean, keep their word, and are often surprised to learn how much force their honesty carries.
Strengths
Decisiveness, courage, and a strong sense of what is owed and what is not.
Where it strains
Bluntness that lands harder than intended. Geng can win the point and lose the relationship.
Work and vocation
Engineering, surgery, law, security, military, or founding — environments where a fast, defensible call matters.
Relationships
Loyal and protective. Soften the delivery, never the truth; the two are not in conflict.
The six Geng day pillars
A Day Master meets six different branches across the sixty-year cycle. Each pairing changes the tone of the stem, so read the one that matches your birth day.
