Restless water over hard stone, always finding a new channel.
In BaZi, the day pillar is the pillar of the self. Its heavenly stem is your Day Master — the reference point for every other character in the chart. A person born on a Ren Shen day has Ren water as their Day Master, sitting on the 申 (metal) branch.
Personality
Ren water is expansive and mobile; the Monkey makes it clever, curious and quick to pivot. You generate options easily and get bored once the pattern is clear.
Work and vocation
Exploration: research, strategy, trading, travel-heavy roles, early-stage products.
Relationships
Engaging and adaptable, but hard to pin down. Consistency is the gift you have to practise.
Health and rhythm
Kidneys, lower back, and nervous depletion from constant motion. Stillness is not optional.
Upcoming 壬申 days
The sexagenary day cycle repeats every sixty days. These are the next dates that fall on Ren Shen.

Is this your day pillar?
You do not need to know your day pillar in advance. Enter your birth date, time and place, and the calculator works out all four pillars — then shows how your Day Master reads against the rest of the chart.

All six Ren pillars share the same Day Master. For the stem on its own — its nature, strengths and blind spots — read the Ren Day Master guide.
